Table Auction: Proceeds to Support Neighbourly Ventures

We are excited to share with our members first that this year’s InnovateNB event will feature a special silent auction in support of Neighbourly Ventures. 

J.D. Irving, Limited built the beautiful live-edge tables for our first InnovateNB event, and this year, we are auctioning them off to raise funds for a remarkable organization focused on entrepreneurship. 

Each table was carefully crafted from hardwood yellow birch that was originally deemed unsuitable for milling because of natural defects. Through innovation and sustainable practices, JDI salvaged the logs, sawed and dried them, and created these stunning custom-made pieces. The trees used are over 100 years old, nearly as old as the company itself, which celebrates its 140th anniversary this year. JDI proudly uses 100 per cent of every tree, producing value-added products like these tables while using bark, sawdust, and shavings for green energy production. 

In recognition of our InnovateNB 2025 Hall of Fame winner, Marcel LeBrun, all proceeds from the auction will go to Neighbourly Ventures, the charitable organization he founded that empowers individuals through training, employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities. 

This silent auction will open with a starting bid of $1,000 per table. Bidders will make their donations directly through the Neighbourly Ventures website, ensuring that the winning bidder’s payment is processed as a charitable donation. Neighbourly Ventures will issue donation receipts directly to the purchasers.  

On the night of the event, several of these tables will be on display, and you will have the opportunity to bid to take one home or add it to your business space while supporting a meaningful cause that celebrates innovation and community impact.
