Innovation in Academia and Research art piece

Meet the 2023 Innovation in Academia and Research winners, Dr. Yassine Bouslimani and Dr. Sid Ahmed Selouani here.

This clay tablet metaphorically depicts the research process in academia. The banded eyes symbolize information being absorbed through the sense of sight. This consumption of ordered files, books, and reference materials is synthesized into a new system of ordered files according to the researcher’s process. The lines around the face refer to this organization. The gears speak to the fusion of information, allowing a new cultivation of ideas.

This piece celebrates the amalgamation of data, evidence and materials collected through research, which comes together to form new and innovative concepts which have the potential to change the world.
